pemberton heights

Nestled in the Lower Capilano area of North Vancouver bordered by Capilano Road, Marine Drive, McKay Creek and Highway 1, Pemberton Heights can best be described as a neighbourhood from a bygone era. A time and place where neighbours were also good friends; where kids could safely ride their bikes to the corner store and play ball hockey in the cul-de-sac.

canyon heights

Pristine nature, plentiful parkland, great schools and beautiful homes with spectacular views — these are just a few reasons why Canyon Heights is one of North Vancouver’s most sought-after neighbourhoods. Beginning at Mosquito Creek and stretching west all the way to Capilano Road, life here feels like an escape from the madness of city life even though all the amenities of the North Shore and the rest of the Lower Mainland are easily accessible.

edgemont village

In any conversation about North Vancouver’s best neighbourhoods,  Edgemont is almost always at or near the top of the list. It is also arguably North Vancouver’s most upscale neighbourhood. Beautiful homes with plenty of yard space, surrounded by tall evergreens along twisting suburban streets on either side of Edgemont Boulevard, Ridgewood Drive and West Queens Road, bordered by Capilano Road to the east. Many of the smaller homes built in decades past are being replaced by new homes that, while larger, still manage to preserve the neighbourhood’s character and idyllic charm.

Nestled in the Lower Capilano area of North Vancouver bordered by Capilano Road, Marine Drive, McKay Creek and Highway 1, Pemberton Heights can best be described as a neighbourhood from a bygone era. grand boulevard

Grand Boulevard is one of oldest and most historic neighbourhoods on the North Shore. These days, the neighbourhood is probably best known for the well-manicured park spanning 12 blocks along the length of the boulevard; a footpath cuts all the way down its centre, where the Lynn Valley Streetcar tracks lay until 1947.

As one might expect given its history, this neighbourhood boasts plenty of beautiful classic home architecture on large lots with ample yard space.

ironwood

Ironwoods is one of the fastest-rising stars among Metro Vancouver’s residential communities. Situated squarely between Francis Road, Shell Road, Steveston Highway and Highway 99, not only is it centrally located in Richmond but it offers convenient access to Vancouver, Surrey, Delta, New Westminster and beyond. An up-and-coming neighbourhood, Ironwood has something for all stages of homebuyer — from market-entry condominiums to large, well-appointed single family homes on generous lots.

morgan creek

Originally intended as a retirement community, Morgan Creek has grown into an exclusive and beautiful deluxe planned neighbourhood. Bordered by farmland that is part of the Agricultural Land Reserve, the neighbourhood consists of large, well-appointed homes on generous lots in the Rosemary Heights area of South Surrey; these will soon be supplemented by luxury townhouse and condominiums, as additional developments are in the works for the neighbourhood.

ocean park

At the easternmost edge of White Rock just south of Crescent Beach is the seaside community of Ocean Park — a place whose neighbourly small-town charm is so well-known that the Surrey Now newspaper once likened it to Andy Griffith’s fictional town of Mayberry.

Residential properties here range from magnificent waterfront homes and estates to smaller townhomes and detached single family homes. Surrounded by the waters of Boundary Bay to the east and Semiahmoo Bay to the south, Ocean Park is home to an abundance of beaches and waterfront parks. The Ocean Park Shoreline Walk trail goes for several kilometres, hugging the railway line. Near the foot of 128th Street, 1001 Steps Park leads via zigzagging wooden steps down to the Burlington Northern rail lines. From there you can walk along a trail leading under the tracks and onto the beach area, where harbour seals basking on the rocks are waiting to greet you. Further, beyond the giant boulder and hidden by the bluffs lies the Crescent Rock South Naturist Beach, a beautiful and secluded spot — if you don’t mind the whole ‘clothing optional’ thing. And of course, the area’s best known beaches — White Rock Beach and Crescent Beach — are nearby as well.
